A MAN has admitted beating and strangling a woman as well as possessing a kitchen knife in a public place in Woking.
Neville Barrett, 41, of Harlech Gardens in Hounslow, pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation, assault by beating and possessing a knife in a public place "without good reason or lawful authority" in Woking on March 28.
He admitted all three charges when he appeared at Guildford Magistrates' Court on June 23, and was remanded in custody for sentencing at Guildford Crown Court on Thursday, July 13.
Barrett pleaded not guilty to driving while disqualified and without motor insurance in Hove on September 5, and on October 10 failing to identify a driver alleged to be guilty of an offence.
He did not enter a plea to a charge of driving dangerously in Hove on September 5.
The Hounslow man will go to trial to answer the driving offences at Guildford Crown Court on July 27.
