HOWE different life is for Aaron now that Woking are back in the top flight of non-league football.

Cards’ 25-year-old  stopper has been in far better form than the goals against column in the Blue Square Premier league table suggests.

A string of fine saves prevented Saturday’s trip to Grimsby becoming an even heavier defeat and it is obvious that his  temperament, position, handling and command of the penalty area are steadily progressing.

He has even picked up three man-of-the-match awards for his goalmouth heroics this season.

But that is of little consolation for a keeper who has been forced to retrieve the ball from his own net a staggering 40 times in 19 games this term.

The one clean sheet against Dartford aside, Howe has not had too much to sing about between the posts this season – but he aims to change all that against Alfreton on Saturday.Cards' No.1 said: "We're a very open, attacking team and obviously we're going to be open to attack as well. That's part and parcel of playing our system, but as a club we know we have to work on it."

"We’re working a lot, defensively, in training with Steve Thompson – as a goalkeeper I take each goal that goes in personally.

"Hopefully our luck will change and we can get a few clean sheets on the board.

"The team is heading in the right direction, everyone is digging in and we just want to get to that 50 points.

"It’s about finding that consistency in this league and without that consistency we won’t be going anywhere."
