WOKING Environment Action (WEAct) will be running the first Woking Repair Cafe on Saturday (10 June) from 10am to 1pm at Andy’s Cafe at St Andrew’s Church in Goldsworth Park (GU21 3LG).
A team of volunteers have come forward to offer free repairs to small electricals, furniture, garden tools, clothes and textiles.
Only items that can be carried by one person will be accepted and no petrol-driven items should be brought for safety reasons.
If possible, please send an email to let the team know what you are planning to bring at [email protected].
WeAct aims to reduce the amount of items going to landfill and will also try to help people learn more about repairing household items.
It plans to run the repair cafe on the second Saturday of every month from 10am -1pm (doors close at 12.30pm). The scheduled dates and venues are:
10 June – Andy’s Cafe, St Andrew’s Church, Goldsworth Park Centre.
8 July – St Michael’s Church, Dartmouth Avenue.
12 Aug – St Mark’s Church, Westfield Road.
9 Sept – Trinity Methodist Church, Brewery Road.
14 October – Andy’s Cafe, St Andrew’s Church, Goldsworth Park Centre.
Donations would be greatly appreciated at the events to help cover running costs.
