THE victim of a suspected stabbing was discovered in a pub car park in Knaphill on Saturday night.

Officers were called to The Anchor  after a wounded man in his 20s was reported to have been found in Lower Guildford Road. It is understood that the incident took place at around 10.45pm, and police confirmed on Sunday that two people had been arrested in connection with the attack.

After being rushed to hospital for treatment, the victim was discharged later that same night.

A police cordon was put in place overnight – eventually being lifted at about midday Sunday – around the properties opposite The Anchor pub as a forensic team took samples for analysis.

The attack represents the second major police incident in the area in a week, with officers scrambling to The Surrey pub last Tuesday following reports of concern for the safety of a woman at an address in Brookwood Lye Road.

Police quickly attended and, following a search of the local area, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of threats to kill and affray.

A statement read: “There were no reports of any injuries as a result of the incident but officers remained in the area while enquiries continued. Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident and there is no wider risk to the community.”
