SURREY Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in relation to an indecent exposure in Woking during the early hours on Saturday.

The victim, a woman in her early 20s, was walking along York Road around 2.50am when she noticed a man following her.

He indecently exposed himself to her and attempted to grab her leg. He left in the direction of Montgomery Road when the victim called police.

Det Con Clare Nettleton said: "We have released these images in the hope that someone may recognise this man and come forward and tell us who he is. For the victim to be approached in this way as she was walking home is extremely distressing and this man must be brought to justice for his actions.

"We are still appealing for witnesses - many people would have been out and about in Woking on Saturday night, possibly enjoying Christmas parties, and therefore I believe someone must have information on this offence which may help officers with their investigation.

"I would urge anyone who recognises the offender from the CCTV or who saw the offender, either around the time of the offence or earlier in the evening, to contact officers with information as we need to find this man.”

The woman was left shaken following the ordeal but was not physically hurt.

A full area search was quickly conducted by officers in a bid to locate the offender.

The offender is described as a white man, aged in his mid 30s, around 5ft 10in tall, with spiky hair. He was wearing smart trousers and shoes with a dark blazer and spoke with an accent, possibly Eastern European.

Anyone who has information should contact Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference WK/12/7568 or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
