A MAN has died following a serious motor accident in Woking yesterday evening.

The driver, in his 60's, was heading onto the Six Crossroads roundabout from the Shores Road direction when he mounted the island, collided with a road sign and hit another car which was pulling up at the Woodham Road junction.

The motorist, confirmed to be from London, died at the scene. The driver of the second car, a local 26-year-old, escaped uninjured.

The roundabout was partially closed at around 6pm for two-and-a-half hours.

Surrey Police are appealing for witnesses of the crash to step forward.
