FORMULA 3: WOKING’S Formula 3 race team have added a Hong Kong import to their team for the penultimate event of the 2014 British Championship.

Briton Dan Wells will team-up with squad regular Camren Kaminsky at Brands Hatch this weekend.

Marking a Formula 3 debut for Southampton-born Wells (below), who has resided in the Far East since 2012, rounds 16, 17 and 18 of the campaign on the Kent venue’s full-length circuit will see the 23-year-old pilot a Dallara-Mercedes in preparation for a planned assault on Japanese Formula 3 next year.

Driving the Woking team’s Dallara F312, which was raced last time out at Thruxton by Max Marshall and previously steered to podium success by Andy Chang during the first half of the season, Wells says he cannot wait to get out on track less than a week from now.

“I’m looking forward to my debut race and it’s great for it to be at Brands Hatch,” he said.

“I went to the 2009 British races there as a guest of Double R before I had started my racing career, so it’s a happy coincidence that I will make my Formula 3 debut with the team now.”
