Victoria Place is inviting visitors to join their enchanted woodland friends this summer for free ‘Woking Wonderland’ family fun.
From 3rd July – 26th August, a whole host of free woodland-themed activities will be running at Victoria Place to enliven the centre both inside and out.
From 3rd – 16th July, the much-loved big screen will return to Jubilee Square, for visitors to watch all the live Wimbledon action. Thearea will be decked out with Astroturf, bright deck chairs and sofas for visitors to enjoy during Wimbledon and throughout the summer.
Families are challenged to help find Woking’s Woodland friends around the centre with a free woodland trail, which can be picked up inthe entrance to The Peacocks. Once complete families can submit their trail to enter the weekly prize draw.
From 1st – 26th August, visitors can unleash their competitive side with the free woodland themed crazy golf from 11am -4pm eachday in Jubilee Square. There is no booking required, just turn up and the team will be on hand to provide golf clubs and balls.
To create a thought-provoking installation, Victoria Place is also inviting visitors from 1st August – 13th August to write a wish for the world on a tag to display on their wooden trees in The Peacocks. These wishes will be used to produce a display to be installed in the centre for everyone to view.
If that wasn’t enough, to encourage visitors to get outside this summer, Victoria Place will be running a photography competition, open to all abilities, for the chance to win a nature-themed hamper. From 3rd July – 26th August, participants are invited to send in their photographs taken of nature around Woking via direct message to Victoria Place on Facebook or Instagram. John-Paul Jackson, Centre Manager, Victoria Place says: “We’re thrilled to offer a full programme of free woodland activities this summer for everyone to enjoy. Our campaign aims to bring the woodlands that surround Woking to Victoria Place and inspire people to care about local wildlife and woodlands, which has never been so vital.
We hope that everyone gets the chance to enjoy the activities throughout the summer, whether enjoying Wimbledon on our big screen or finding our hidden woodland friends around the centre”.
