Alton Lions Club members hosted more than 60 parents, carers and children for a Lions District Fun Day Out at Marwell Zoo on June 11.
Families admired and learnt about the animals – some, like the mountain bongo, are on an endangered species conservation programme – tried garden games and crafts at Marwell Hall, had a picnic and enjoyed the adventure play areas and road train.
Thanking the First District vice-governor – Petersfield Lion Sandra Manktelow – and her team for organising the event, Alton Lions president Moira Baker said: “The families had a great day.
“The Marwell Zoo staff were so friendly and helpful, the animals were a delight, and the Lions organisers made it a real day to remember.”
