Year 5 pupils from St Lawrence CE Primary School impressed older residents of Alton with their interests and hobbies when they visited the Library Club at Alton Library.
The Library Club was busier than usual, with 22 older people enjoying the company of the children. Jean Crookes, 84, said: “It was so nice to spend time with such a lovely group of young children. They were very polite and I loved hearing about their different interests – especially as none of them mentioned gadgets!”
Library Club co-ordinator Peta Sutherland added: “I think it is great that the children can come and talk to older people without shyness.
“They are so impressive and a credit to their parents and the staff of St Lawrence CE Primary School.”
