BY THE time he arrives at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre next week, Britain’s favourite publican Al Murray, The Pub Landlord, might be an MP.

Standing in today’s General Election as the Free United Kingdom Party candidate in South Thanet (the constituency where UKIP’s Nigel Farage is also a hopeful vote-seeker), he could be heading for Parliament.

What’s more certain is that Al will be in Woking on Sunday, May 17 to celebrate 20 years since he embarked on his one man mission as the King Cnut of Common Sense, holding back a tide of bottled beer and ninny state nonsense.

To celebrate this milestone, the comedy icon is taking his latest show, One Man, One Guvnor, on the road – he will also appear at Aldershot’s Princes Hall on Saturday, May 16.
