POLICE are investigating the discovery of a body found in woodland near Woking.
Surrey Police were called on Thursday (July 26) following reports of a corpse seen in a wooded area in Colliers Close behind the Sythwood estate in Goldsworth Park.
Police confirmed that a body was found at 7am today and immediately cordoned off the area.
One local resident, who did not want to be named, said: "The police were down here and were carrying out inquiries.
"We were told they found a young man. It's such a shame and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family."
The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
Police enquiries remain ongoing but the man, said to be from the Woking area, was believed to be in his 20s.
